For those of us who build up our Supras to amazing HP numbers, we know the value of great fasteners inside our engines. The major forces that produce all that HP are working against your engine to tear it apart.

The main studs are charged with the duty of holding the crankshaft in place without stretching, which is a standard phenomena in ALL fasteners. The higher HP output of the modified engine has much more force working on the main studs.

OEM main studs are great quality, and seem to last for a long time at relatively higher HP than most other engines, but when you are asking your 2JZ to pump out 750-1200 HP, then building with the correct fastener is critical and will ensure the utmost in stud integrity.

TMS has developed the L19 main stud for 2JZ and 1JZ engines. L19 materiel has a 260,000 psi tensile strength. What does that mean? Normal ARP main studs have 190,000 in tensile strength. A HUGE difference in holding power and resistance to fatigue or the stresses of the engine.
