What is interesting about this clutch for the 1993-2002 MKIV Supra is that it holds high torque, has a hydraulic release mechanism, and is built very well. Reviews across the Supra community say this is an amazing street clutch system (with affordable rebuild potential) that holds the power. The jury is still out on drag racing, but for a fast street car, this gives you options as compared to the RPS twin and triples (often on backorder for 2-3 weeks) as well as the OS Giken's.

This combination means a stock like pedal feel and holds power for up to 1200HP (crank) cars with up to 900ft/lbs of torque! Install is unique in that it does use the hydraulic mechanism and requires careful attention to the shimming set-up, all of which is a straight forward process for those familiar with MKIV Supra clutch installs.

We are proud to offer one of the finest and most economical multi-plate clutch systems, the FX850 Series. Clutch Masters' Twin Disc systems are pure racing technology that also works well in high performance street applications.

They are designed to hold tremendous torque ratings while retaining a very smooth operation. By using a smaller diameter clutch assembly, Clutch Masters Twin Disc systems have a reduced rotational mass, meaning quicker and smoother shifting and much better throttle response.

By slightly increasing the clamping force of the pressure plate, yet adding to the total usable surface disc area, CM Twin Discs significantly increase clamping values.

The cover assembly is machined from billet aluminum with 25% more tensile strength than the competition's cast unit. They are available in three specific pressure ratings as well as several types of friction surfaces.

The flywheel is machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum to meet SFI spec 1.2 for competition in NHRA, NDRA, IDRC, IHRA, SCCA and NASA.

All systems include:

☼ Cover Assembly with attached Diaphragm

☼ Pressure Plate Ring

☼ Two Discs

☼ One Mid Plate

☼ Billet Aluminum Flywheel* (steel optional)

☼ Release Bearing - Pilot Bearing (when applicable)

☼ Pressure Plate Bolts

Components can be purchased separately for economical repair, and rebuild is very affordable.

Positive release for ease of high RPM staging and shifting. Most have experienced better 1/4 mile times and averaged hundreds of passes without complications or repair in test applications. Results may vary per application. For the Supra, this clutch is "rated" to 900 ft/lbs of torque, though we have seen one installed in a nearly 1200rwhp car that makes huge amounts of torque.

Note: As is with many multi-disc clutches, the clutch can be a bit loud (rattle). Squeel on light slipping will go away after around 400 miles of break-in.

Picture four shows the hydraulic actuator assembly installed in one of our customers in Thailand. Please note the four hex-head bolts securing this in place. Clutch Masters for whatever reason does not include those, so before your install you will need four (4) 6mm x 50mm long hex-head bolts with washers.
