The 2JZGTE engine is simply the finest example of how a factory original turbo engine should be built. Capable of handling 750hp on 100% stock internals, no head gasket upgrades, no pistons, rods, crank, nothing, no girdle like the RB motors. The ultimate tuner engine.

2JZGTE engines are now in some cases approaching 18 years of age and that is a lot of time for a coil pack to have to load and unload itself, as well as massive heat cycling. Over time they degrade, the spark energy drops and if you are running higher boost or making bigger power you begin to get that higher boost miss-fire. That is always related to the ignition circuit somewhere. 1. Spark plug failure 2. Coil pack desegregation 3. Coil connector break-down.

Superspark coils are a direct fit, high performance coil pack with a design that allows for better dielectric properties, which enables more spark energy to reach the spark plugs. On top of this, they have an outstanding performance history in boosted RB26 (Skyline) motors, and are now making serious progress into the 2JZ world.

The reason the Skyline boys and girls are farther down the road with these then the Supra crowd is simple. The Nissan motors, electronics, etc., are not anywhere near as robust as the Toyota, so they were forced to look for an answer far sooner then we have to. We clipped a simple article showing a nice performance gain (jpeg attached), but while we are not promoting performance gains in power, we are promoting less ignition break-down and a very robust and cost-effective solution. If you can end up turning the boost up a bit more, you will make more power and that is the key.

Who want's to be in a close race and shift to 4th gear, the boost begins to climb and you are 1/2 car length ahead (ahead of who?, that Gixxer 1000 or another Supra) and then ignition miss fire happens and you go down to a competitor you know you should beat. Just get the coils, be happy and they look trick in RED too.

Super Spark Coil Packs allow a 1-2 HP gain in Horsepower to the ground compared to BRAND NEW OEM Coil Packs but could pick up to 5-10HP on aged / faulty Coils.
