For those who cant afford $5000+ on a used V160 6 speed transmission, or $6999 for a brand new one, we now offer a much less expensive alternative! With this bellhousing, you can run any T56 transmission that uses the Chevy bolt pattern (as opposed to the Ford or Dodge one). Such transmissions include the 4th gen F body Camaro/Firebird that was made during the same years as the MkIV (1993-2002), first generation CTS-V's (04-07), etc.

You will need to do some custom work to fit the transmission in the chassis, the shifter position, and a custom driveshaft, which we can provide as well. In many cases, it can be done for less than half the price of the Toyota/Getrag 6 speed!

One of the best options is to opt for a brand new T56 Magnum, which we can also provide for $3415.50. The T56 Magnum is a much stronger and better shifting box that uses the TR6060 internals from the newest Viper, Corvette ZR1, Shelby GT500, Challenger SRT8 Hellcat, Pontiac G8 GXP, Camaro ZL1, and even Aston Martins! It also has provisions for 3 separate shifter locations and a choice of 2 sets of gear ratios:

2.66|1.78|1.30|1.00|.80|.63 2.90 Reverse
2.97|2.10|1.46|1.00|.74|.50 2.90 Reverse

If you are converting over your 2JZ, you will also need a 2JZ flywheel and a clutch disc with the input shaft flange of the T56 you are using. Usually, you will need a T56 hydraulic slave/throwout bearing as well.

There are an assortment of different T56 transmissions out there. The Corvette, 03-04 Cobra, Falcon, Camaro/Trans Am, Viper, SRT10 pickup, GTO, CTS-V, SSR, and even some Aston Martins all got their own version of the T56, so you will need a Chevy T56 for this.

Different T56s also have very different lengths, shifter locations, and dimensions. The 03/04 Mustang Cobra also used a weaker 10 spline input shaft instead of the usual 26 spline.

Keep in mind that Tremec transmissions are also specified to take Dexron ATF as well.
